The supposed extortionist harrassing the Bhatts is arrested

Mahesh Bhatt reportedly received an extortion call demanding Rs 50 lakhs or else be responsible for the death of his daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan.
And it took Mumbai crime branch's anti-extortion cell just twelve hours to arrest the culprit, Sandeep Sahu, an unemployed 24-year-old man from Lucknow.

Sandeep posted as dreaded underworld gangster Babloo Srivastava and made the threat call demanding the money be transferred to a Lucknow branch account.
This gave the police their biggest clue and with the help of UP's special task force they tracked down Sandeep. Apparently, Sahu orchestrated the entire drama because he needed to repay Rs 6 lakh to his relatives from whom he had borrowed money to set up his shoe shop. When the shop ran losses he came to Mumbai to beckme an actor. When that dream ended too, he got hold of Bhatt's contact info and posed to be Srivastava, who was once Dawood's aide and is in jail.
