Raees and Kaabil may become the first Indian movies to be screened in Pakistan after the government lifts the four-months-long ban on the screening of Bollywood movies in the country, following Indo-Pak tensions. The government stopped the screenings of Indian films after Bollywood had to ban casting Pakistani artists in Indian movies in the wake of Uri terror attack and 'surgical strikes' conducted by the Indian Army on terror launch pads along the LOC in Kashmir. Unfortunately the Pakistani cinema owners might could not sustain the losses as the local film industry is not as established.
The cinema owners grief was also reflected by the stake holders. In a recent meeting, Minister of State for Information Maryam Aurangzeb and the PM Sharif's adviser Irfan Siddiqui recommended to revert the ban and soon after a letter allowing the import if Indian films was issued.
