Karan gets called out for playing it safe

An Unsuitable Boy has put Karan Johar in the midst of a lot of controversy ever since he discussed his sexuality and his fall out with Kajol. And since he refused to openly come out of the closet to actually say he's gay, gay activists have spoken up against his'safe' attitude. They feel more celebrities need to come in the open about their homosexuality.
While Writer and filmmaker Apurva Asrani says that more people, especially celebrities need to come out if they want to fight 377, Filmmaker Onir, on the other hand, thinks gay celebrities have a choice to decide how much of their private life one is willing to make public.
Gay rights activist, actress Celina Jaitly feels homosexuality ousting is bigger than just Bollywood and despite a more tolerant age, there are a lot of people afraid to come out.
